Showcase: Ric Kessler Photography

Featured is the Web site for photographer, Ric Kessler. Kesslers' work capturers the magic and wonder of nature with such attention to detail that it makes the viewer feel as if they are transported to the shoot location and are looking through the lens. Kesslers' experience and love for nature can be seen in each of his subjects, whether it is capturing the charismatic expression of a brown bear or the beauty and symmetry of a scenic location, Kesslers' work speaks to the viewer.

We worked closely with Kessler to assure the final Web site reflected the feeling of his work, not merely display it. We accomplished this by implementing a color scheme based upon cool green and blue tones that complement his work. We also used the image of a soft blue sky with feathery clouds to tie the pages into the nature-themed site.

Since the site was to house many examples of both Kessler's and his son, Casey's, work it was important that the site load very quickly. Reducing the size and resolution of the images for optimal load time, as well as limiting the number on each page accomplished this. The last element of the site to consider was that of an integrated shopping cart where visitors could place their orders and make payment to Kessler for his photographs. This was accomplished via the ZenCart shopping cart system and integrated into the page for each photograph.
